Tales from the Trenches: Corporations Speak on eDiscovery
POSTED ON October 15

If you look in any publicly traded company’s annual report, you will find a discussion of ongoing litigation. Large corporations are frequent targets of employment, personal injury, and intellectual property claimants. Occasionally, they start fights themselves! Either way, weak eDiscovery management can translate into considerable risk for a corporation of any size.

On October 21st, Shepherd Data Services’ Jen Stegora will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Tales from the Trenches.” Attendees will hear the tales of how Ameriprise, 3M, and Xcel eDiscovery Managers manage so as to reduce that risk. Our guests will learn what these expert eDiscovery Managers want from law firms and their own eDiscovery departments. We’ve assembled a terrific panel of experts, including:

  • Melissa Anderson, Litigation Technology Services Manager, 3M
  • Valerie Lloyd, Manager – eDiscovery, Xcel Energy
  • Robert Stangler, Senior Manager – eDiscovery & eCRM, Ameriprise

We can all learn from their experience (plus, it’s a free CLE credit)!

To get the most from these laureates of the eDiscovery realm, we developed a list of questions that the panel will address at the event. The practical issues that Melissa, Valerie, and Robert will discuss include the corporate eDiscovery manager’s role in litigation, from timing to tools and workflow and through it all best practices that they want their own department to employ, as well as, their law firms and vendors. Panelists will even touch on the eDiscovery-related Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that go into effect December 1st.

We expect that all in attendance will lean in to hear and learn from their war stories and tips. I personally look forward to the fresh perspective that will come with hearing from each panelist about their “trenches” and how eDiscovery is managed at their respective organizations.

Please join us at 3:00 on Wednesday, October 21st for this one-hour symposium. Afterwards, you can enjoy cocktails and appetizers with a Halloween theme. eDiscovery can be scary, but it can also be fun! To register call us at (612)659-1234 or register at our Events site.
