Discovery has changed completely. The thought process and strategy for conducting eDiscovery now require a team approach that combines legal strategy, technology, and business expertise. Meeting the client’s legal obligations requires that litigation support teams and attorneys develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship. But how to do that? Kelly Twigger will discuss:
– Ways that attorneys and litigation support professionals can make their relationship work more effectively,
– The different perspectives that both groups bring to the table and their impact on effective communication, and
– A reset on how to think about discovery that will bring about more effective and efficient approaches to eDiscovery.
About the presenter: Kelly Twigger is the Principal of ESI Attorneys, an Information Law and eDiscovery Law Firm based in Boulder, Colorado. Kelly is an attorney, educator, writer and mother of three children. Much of Kelly’s practice is as eDiscovery counsel for law firms, municipalities and organizations that need the advice and expertise of a full-time eDiscovery lawyer. Kelly is the creator of the eDiscovery Assistant™ app for iPad, the go to tool for litigators on eDiscovery. She is also a co-author of Electronic Discovery and Records and Information Management, a reference book updated annually and published by West as well as a guest lecturer at multiple law schools on electronic discovery. As former trial counsel, Kelly leverages her firsthand knowledge of litigation tactics to craft, negotiate and implement effective strategies for requesting, receiving and managing electronically stored information. Kelly’s true love is basketball (she’s a former college basketball player), and she is happiest during March Madness — especially when Kentucky is on a roll. GO CATS!
